Sunday Reads is the weekly letter from Thinking About Thinking, posted on Sundays to our Substack. Fellows have first call; everyone is welcome to send work. We read every submission and reply, usually within two weeks.

What we publish
  • Essays, letters and arguments. Three thousand words is plenty.
  • Thoughtful, well-structured, mission-aligned writing on intelligence.
  • AI, neuroscience, mathematics, philosophy and the sciences of the mind.
What we ask for
  • A working title and a short abstract (around 150 words).
  • A link to the draft, on a Google Doc, Notion, or similar, so we can comment.
  • A short bio for the byline and where to find your work online.

Stanford, DeepMind, independent. Whichever describes you best.

What runs under your byline. Around 150 characters.

Optional. A link to a photo of yourself (Google Drive, personal site, etc.).

A single paragraph. What the article argues, who should read it. Around 150 words.

Link to a Google Doc, Notion, Dropbox, or similar so editors can comment. Make sure sharing is enabled.
